If you are reading this page right now, it means that you are interested in taking piano lessons, and would like to know if you are ready.  Is this your first time taking piano lessons?  Did you take piano lesson years ago, and want continue your musical journey?  Do you currently have a teacher, and wonder if a new teacher would be a better fit for you?

*You will find three different lists below for adults (Ages 18+), parents, and younger students (Under 18).  Please find your category.
If at least three items in any of the categories apply to you, you should be ready to start lessons.  Please feel free to contact me for more information.
Adult Students
  • I have an acoustic piano/weighted keyboard.
  • I can commit to one lesson each week.
  • I can practice at least 2-3 hours a week.
  • I am confident that my desire to learn is a source of motivation.
  • I am sometimes referred to as a perfectionist, and will not quit until I achieve my goals.
  • I thrive on taking on new challenges.
  • I understand that while playing the piano is enjoyable, I need to practice to improve my skills.
  • If my child is under the age of nine, I will help monitor practice.
  • If my child is under the age of seventeen, I will encourage them to practice and work towards goals set for them.
  • I will provide an acoustic piano or weighted keyboard for my child to practice on.
  • I will be on time when dropping off and picking up my child to and from lessons.
  • I will be responsible for paying for new books and lesson fees when the appropriate time comes.
  • I understand that my involvement can have a positive effect with lessons.
  • Should special circumstances arise such as sickness, family emergencies, etc.,  I will communicate the situation with the teacher.
Younger Students
  • I understand that I will need to practice at least 15min to an hour 4-5 days a week.
  • I understand that it is my responsibility to practice, and my parents are not obligated to remind me to practice.
  •  It is important that I be prepared for upcoming lessons and recitals by practicing, preparing, and performing my pieces to the best of my ability.
  • Although other activities are important in my life, I am ready to balance them with my piano lessons.
  • I will bring all of my books and required materials to my lessons.
  • I really enjoy music, and playing the piano interests me.
